Ram 1500 Rumble Bee concept might hit the market

Rumble Bee

Dodge may bring back one of its classic, and most unreserved trucks, the Rumble Bee.

The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee has been off the market since 2005. Like the name suggests, the truck is a bright yellow (black has been an option in the past, too), with a stripe that bears resemblance to a bee. The yellow trucks had a black stripe, the black trucks had a yellow stripe.

The concept debuted this summer at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan. The concept truck is equipped with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that roars to life on 395hp, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the matte yellow paint and 24-inch black wheels/low profile tires, there is a real bee encased in resin on the gear shift knob. Response at the Woodward Dream Cruise was enthusiastic so Chrysler will now test vehicle reaction by taking the concept out to dealers. Check the  Chapman Dodge website to see if the Rumble Bee will make an appearance there.

If the truck receives positive reviews from dealers, Chrysler may produce it for the mass market. If this is done, some things will be changed from the concept car, such as the bee gearshift knob and the matte paint, according to Edmunds.

At this point, there are no definitive plans for the production of this truck. No other details have been disclosed about price, possible introduction date, etc. To look at more Dodge vehicles visit Las Vegas Dodge.
