Dodge Journey lineup streamlined for 2016

Dodge Journey

Dodge has streamlined the lineup of the Journey models the company will be releasing in 2016. The automaker has reduced the number models of the popular Journey it will unleash on the public in 2016 from seven to five. The 2015 Dodge lineup set a number of sales records. The company plans to build on that momentum in 2016 and hope that it can equal or surpass the number of sales they had. All the models of the Journey, Dodge’s versatile crossover, sold well. Now Dodge has narrowed down the field, upgraded the features and is poised to impress.

By reducing the number of models, Dodge was able to put more time, effort, creativity, and testing into the five models of 2016 Dodge Journey that are prepared to hit the market. The lineup is simplified and improved, and both the drivers and passengers will reap the benefits. Those benefits include more comfortable seating with better lumbar support, a roomier interior, premium materials, the option of Three-Zone Automatic Temperature Control, leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, heated leather-trimmed front seats, and even a leather-wrapped shift knob. To see the shift knob, heated steering wheel and the rest of the interior of a Dodge Journey, come to Chapman Dodge Las Vegas to see what all the fuss is about.

The five 2016 models of the Dodge Journey available are the SE, SXT, Crossroad, Crossroad Plus, R/T, SE, and SXT. They’ve all been redesigned to improve safety, performance, and comfort. It’s definitely not the same old Journey. It begins with the entry level, where the AVP has been replaced by the SE model. Plus the SE now has features like keyless entry, push button start, and 17-inch wheels, which is sure to impress anyone who takes a peak at the Journey.

There are two versions of the 2016 Crossroad, both with unique looks. The redesigned Crossroad Plus now boasts an array of standard interior upgrades, including leather seats. The exterior of the Crossroad and Crossroad Plus now have Platinum Chrome accented front and rear fascia, side sills with Platinum Chrome, and Hyper Black 19 inch aluminum wheels. Be prepared for a brand new, more adventurous Journey.

Under the hood, the Crossroad, Crossroad Plus, SE, and SXT get their power from a 16-valve, 2.4-liter, DOHC four-cylinder engine. This power source offers 173 horsepower and a righteous 166 foot-pounds of torque. It’s mated with a four-speed automatic transmission. Together, they deliver a respectable 26 miles per gallon while cruising down the highway. This is standard on all four models.

A strong 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine powers the R/T and all of its brethren with all-wheel drive. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, it dishes out 283 horsepower and a respectable 260 foot-pounds of torque. Together they help the R/T get as much as 25 mpg when it hits the highway. This powertrain is an option on the 2016 Journey Crossroad, Crossroad Plus, and SXT models.

Add innovative new hues, seating for seven, expanded cargo and storage space, loads of technology, improved comfort, performance, safety, and fuel efficiency and the 2016 Dodge Journey’s streamlined offerings are more exciting than ever.
