2019 Ram 1500 has 12-inch touchscreen, hybrid technology

The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 is about to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public and it certainly makes a bold statement. Not only does it have a 12-inch touchscreen and hybrid technology, it is also lighter, more fuel-efficient and has a quieter interior than its predecessor. Fiat Chrysler Ram brand’s 2019 flagship vehicle is simply better than ever before. It has even ditched the grille cross hairs for a new chiseled, more aggressive-looking Ram logo. The unveiling of the new Dodge Ram 1500 was one of the North American Auto Show in Detroit’s most highly anticipated events. And it didn’t disappoint. And, if you take one for a spin at Chapman Las Vegas Dodge, you are sure to fall in love with the Ram 1500.

The 2019 Ram 1500 reflects the ‘no compromise’ approach FCA is taking when it comes to the full-size truck segment. It sure to please truck buyers with its leading-edge innovation, stunning 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen display and active systems designed to improve fuel efficiency while assisting drivers. Its towing capability is now 12,750 while the vehicle is 225 pounds lighter. Buyers can also choose either a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 or a second-generation Pentastar V-6 3.6 liter engine. To improve start/stop function and boost torque, the truck integrates 48-volt mild hybrid technology.

The 2019 Ram 1500’s strategic use of aluminum improves fuel-efficiency and light-weighting. It’s included in the new tailgate that drivers can drop with an interior switch or activate remotely using the key fob. The tailgate’s lift assist gets help from an oil and nitrogen-charged strut. To make it 9% more aerodynamic than the 2018 model, the grille shutters close when there’s no need for air flow, at 35 m.p.h. the active front air dam deploys and there’s a suspension system which lowers the truck.

This newest Ram 1500 offers 15 new wheels choices and 12 color choices. There are 5 USB ports on the center console, the center stack is closer to the driver and raised a little higher. There’s a flat-load floor to ease storage and the upper glove box doubles as a shelf. There’s a deep storage tub for a 15-inch laptop and a lined storage compartment large enough for a tablet or full-size files, both hidden under the center armrest. Rear passengers have a tablet holder at the back of the center console and there’s cup holders galore in the front and back.

The truck’s safety features, both standard and optional, are many and diverse. There’s adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive front lighting and more on this thoroughly modern truck. Add a well-appointed interior, comfortable rear seat and optional infotainment system and Ram has improved all aspects of the truck. Consumer perception of Ram trucks is high and rising and no truck can match what the 2019 Ram 1500 offers. FCA hopes the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant built vehicle will keep its pickup truck sales momentum going.

Pickup truck sales have been driving automakers profits in recent years. In 2017 FCA sold over 500,000 Ram pickups. With all its upgrades, the 2019 Ram 1500 is sure to be a big hit.
