Chalk up another victory for the incredible Dodge Durango. At the annual Winter Vehicle Driving Event held by the New England Motor Press Association, the 2018 Dodge Durango was voted Official Winter SUV of the Year. It was part of a group of FCA US LLC vehicles that took home more awards at the eighth annual Winter Vehicle Competition than any other automobile manufacturer. The Durango won because of its ability to handle anything the New England weather threw at it, NEMPA president John Paul said.

With seating for seven, the ability to handle roads less traveled and enough engine choices to satisfy any buyer, the Durango was the clearly the right choice for Winter SUV of the Year. The Jeep Grand Cherokee with its 707-horsepower engine, a perennial winner, had a strong showing and blew away the competition. The legendary Jeep Wrangler was also a winner. For NEMPA members, the Ram 1500 with its controlled, comfortable ride, interior rivaling many luxury cars and excellent powertrain choices, was an easy choice. Three words sum up the Ram 1500: capable, comfortable and powerful.  To check out any Dodge, head to Chapman Chrysler Jeep, and you are sure to find what you want.

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Jeep Wrangler also impressed the New England Motor Press Association. The Jeep brand automobiles won the awards for Extreme and Heritage Vehicle, respectively. NEMPAA members gave the 2018 Ram 1500 glowing remarks and the vehicle took home the Pickup Truck segment’s top honors. The members of the NEMPA evaluated a wide array of vehicles from various manufacturers covering many categories. Journalists went through each vehicle at several locations throughout New England in the run up to the day the official testing and scoring took place at the headquarters of the NEMPA in Middleborough, Massachusetts in February.

Founded in 1987, the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA)was created to coordinate the auto industry’s professional media coverage in Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with their 14.5 million citizens and their different demographics and automotive preferences. The media members that make up the NEMPA are workers from network and cable TV, radio, the Internet, as well as regional and national magazines and newspapers.
