635563350651138139-DG015-023VPnkslik6fhcc1a9c201bagt3algStarting on February 1st, 2015, customers at Chapman Dodge Las Vegas interested in purchasing a new Dodge SRT Viper will be a whole lot happier. The reason is because they can now customize their order based on factors like wheel type, color, interior functions, and even the type of aerodynamic kit that comes with the vehicle. Dodge has even gone as far as to develop a 20-minute video showing how their vehicle was built. This newer, budget-friendlier ordering system is ultimately going to boost sales as we continue into the later part of 2015.

In 2014, Dodge had only sold about 760 Vipers. This year, they expect to sell approximately 1,500, which would be about a 50% increase from the year before. Is this a goal that they’ll achieve? If you consider the amount of flexibility that customers are going to have when ordering their new Vipers, it’s safe to say that they will.

How Will The Customized Ordering System Work?

As mentioned, the earliest that customers can begin ordering their customer Vipers is on February 1st. All that they need to do is visit the ordering website and choose any wheel, interior, color, and aerodynamic kit combination that they would like. And if customers have any questions then all they need to do is refer to the 20-minute instructional video that Dodge put together.

This revolutionized ordering system is the second major step that Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO, has made to increase annual sales for the Viper. Although the Viper is an amazing vehicle in its own right, it has fallen short of expectations since it was reintroduced to the general public. In September, the company was forced to drop the price of the Viper from just over $100,000 to about $85,000. In 2013, they only sold about 561 Vipers.

Kiuniskis mentioned in an interview that they, “…kind of dropped the ball.” The “mistake” was failing to tell people how the Viper was built. Kiuniskis believes that by shedding light on how the Viper came to be, as well as offering a new customized ordering system, that he’ll be able to dramatically increase Viper sales for the company. It’s difficult to predict the outcome of this move at the moment, but there’s good reason to believe that it’s going to succeed.

What’s in the 20-Minute Video?

The 20-minute video produced by Dodge shows a driver being driven through a desert racetrack. The video then lets users learn about Dodge’s assembly plant in Detroit, as well as explain how vehicles on constructed by hand rather than being placed on an assembly line. The narrator in the video goes on to say, “The Dodge Viper – created like no other car in the world”.

And for the most part, this is true – the Viper is a vehicle that is carefully crafted by painstaking hours of hands-on design and construction. Not only should this ordering system help make ordering a Viper easier, but it should also increase the amount of exclusivity that the driver feels while driving it. Visit Chapman Dodge Las Vegas to learn more about how this new customized ordering system works.

dodge_collageWhether new or used, buying a car from Chapman Dodge for the first time can be an exciting, yet, unfamiliar experience for many. In order to ensure that you purchase the Dodge vehicle that suits your lifestyle and budget, we’re going to provide you with six strategies to consider when at the dealership.

Tip #1: Set a Budget

This is probably the most important tip to follow if you’re going to save money on your purchase. It ensures that you won’t spend more than you can actually afford, and that you’ll still be in a good financial situation after you’ve purchased your new or pre-owned Dodge vehicle.

Tip #2: Develop a List of Potential Candidates

It’s always a good idea to develop a list of potential Dodge vehicle candidates that you’re interested in. For instance, would you like to get behind the wheel of a brand new Dodge Viper? Or how about the all-powerful Dodge Charger? Whatever your interests are, make sure that you write them down before going to the dealership. Also, find out the approximate retail price for each vehicle so that you don’t overspend if you decide to purchase one.

Tip #3: New vs. Used – Time to Decide

There are advantages and disadvantages to purchasing from pre-owned or new Dodge inventory. Make sure that you understand all of them. For example, the advantage of buying a new Dodge car means that probably comes with a full warranty and free maintenance over an x-amount of years (some pre-owned vehicles won’t come with this option). On the flipside of the argument, pre-owned Dodge vehicles are much more budget-friendly, saving you thousands of dollars over the long run.

Tip #4: Research Cost of Ownership

The truth is that some vehicles are simply much more expensive to drive and maintain than others. This largely boils down to fuel economy and cost of parts/labor should something go wrong with the vehicle. For instance, fixing a 2000 Dodge vehicle might be more expensive than fixing a 2015 Dodge vehicle since parts for the older model are probably scarce. This is definitely something to think about before investing in any Dodge car, truck, or SUV.

Tip #5: Don’t Be Afraid to Negotiate

If you feel that you can get a better price, then ask for one! There’s nothing wrong with utilizing this strategy. The worst they can do is say “No”, in which case, you can shop at a different dealership. Most of the time, dealers will be happy to compromise with customers and offer a lower price that’s more affordable.

Tip #6: Take a Test Drive

Even if it’s a new Dodge vehicle, always take it for a test drive before purchasing. This is something that you’ll want to do for every vehicle that you’re interested in. Is it time consuming? Yes. But is it worth it? Definitely. This will ultimately tell you if the vehicle you’re interested in is experiencing any problems that can’t be noticed while it is parked.
