2015 Dodge Challenger Posts 2nd Best Sales Year Ever

Sales of the Dodge Challenger are trending upward. The management of the Chrysler Group has announced that in 2015 Dodge Challenger sales were the second highest in the automobile’s history. The Dodge Challenger was first produced in 1970. That year 83,032 Challengers were sold. In 2015, the company sold 66,365. That is the second highest total number of Challengers ever sold in a single year. And this significant increase in sales is not a one-off event. Dodge Challenger sales have risen steadily since 2009. Apparently each year more and more Americans are falling in love with the Challenger.

Sales of the muscular Challenger is building momentum too. While sales had been growing steadily each year, 2015 saw sales rocket upwards by almost 15,000. That’s not just a sales increase, that’s a seismic shift. It’s a referendum on the quality of this car. The Dodge Challenger is excitement on four wheels. In an economic and social atmosphere where stress is pervasive, the Dodge Challenger is a stress release valve that can relieve tension and put a smile on people’s faces. And it seems like a growing number of people have come to recognize it. And, if you want to see why the Dodge Challenger had its 2nd best sales year ever, come to Chapman Dodge Las Vegas and feel the power – you won’t regret it.

There are cars that sell more units than the Dodge Challenger, but that doesn’t bother the management team of the Chrysler Group. Automobile sales is a bottom-line business, and the bottom line is the Challenger is making a statement buyers like. When the company debuted the 2015 Dodge Challenger at the New York International Auto Show in 2014, people questioned whether the redesigned classic could improve on the 51,611 Challengers they had sold. They questioned whether the upgrades were enough to generate interest from new buyers. But the Chrysler Group didn’t question, or waver. They simply delivered.

The Dodge Challenger had a banner year in 2015. The 2014 edition was the 7th iteration of the Challenger badge. Although sales had continued to rise since 2008, some were suggesting the Chrysler Group should make the Challenger more like a Camaro or Mustang. Make it smaller and lighter many suggested. Instead Chrysler doubled down. They added the SRT Hellcat package with its 707 horsepower engine, introduced some new trimlines, and did a light refresh. While the critics said the changes to the 2015 Dodge Challenger were not enough to improve sales, the vehicle went on to have the second best sales year in its history.

In May 2015, 7,438 Dodge Challengers were sold. A record for sales. More than 4,260 Challengers were sold in the November 2015. That was the fewest sales of any month in 2015. In the past, 4,263 sales would have been considered a great month. But things have changed for the Dodge Challenger. The Chrysler Group is in the midst of a 69 month stretch in which sales have improved year over year. They’re the first automaker in the American market to do that. And things look even brighter for the Chrysler Group and the Dodge Challenger in 2016.
