2012 SRT8

The Chrysler 300 SRT8 is the first SRT that is causing buzz on the Internet. Because people associate flash with fast they assume this car isnt a top performer on the roads. This car could embarrass cars that cost $20,000 more and the lack of a loud exhaust and oversized spoiler is actually what makes this 470-hp beast stand out from the modern flash. The Chrysler 300 SRT8 looks just like the luxury V-6 model you can rent from the airport. The difference is the Hemi-driven engine under the hood that puts out close to 500-horse power. The car goes from 0-60 in 4.3 and is the fastest 300 ever tested. One feature that was added is a launch control button that revs the engine up to over 1800 rpm before releasing the brake.

The 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 brings new school technology to an old school body style. The vintage inspired Challenger has a Hemi powered engine that puts out 470-horse power and 470 lb-ft of torque. Like the 300 SRT8 it goes from 0-60 under 4.5 seconds. Also like the 300 SRT8 it has a launch control button. The manual version has an impressive top speed of 182 and the automatic hits 175. One thing that is surprising about the Challenger is the fuel efficiency. It gets an estimated 14 city and 23 highway mpg. Like all 2013 SRT8 vehicles it is the beneficiary of an upgraded suspension.

Another standout SRT of 2013 is the Dodge Charger SRT8. It is powered by a V-8 Hemi that puts out 425-horse power. It is fast due to its engine but what makes it special is its impressive braking capabilities thanks to 20-inch tires, Brembo binders and Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. It contrasts the Challenger because it is more of a fast car capable of tight, comfortable turns while the Challenger is built to go fast and straight. The Charger is a true modern sports car.
